Hi. I'm contemplating a carport where we want to utilize the entire available space, which is 8 meters wide and 9 meters deep. The idea is to build a storage section of 8x3 meters at the back of the carport. I get the suggestion below in the calculator but I'm a complete novice when it comes to load-bearing, so I gratefully accept any opinions. What I am particularly wondering about is which dimension of roof beams I can manage with, I've pasted the four strongest options below.
I also wonder what kind of foundation I need. The port will stand on a newly constructed area with 40cm of bearing layer and 30cm of 8/16 on top of that. Pouring a concrete slab is too expensive. I have been considering ground screws from Stavrex / Sluta Gräv, but I'm wondering if it will be too weak with regard to wind forces? Good old pre-purchased pilasters are what I'm considering in that case.
