Background:
In the spring, we drained around the entire house and insulated with 100mm Isodrän board. At the same time, we removed loose wallpaper and plaster in the basement to let it "breathe." The wall construction was 25cm lightweight concrete and plaster, then filled and wallpapered directly on this.

Basement room under renovation with peeling wallpaper, exposed plaster, a blue bag with debris, radiators, and a workbench.

Now:
I plan to frame the walls with metal studs and put up drywall to then wallpaper. How much of the old filler and plaster needs to be removed? What's the easiest method to remove this? How much air gap should there be at the top or bottom near the moldings?
On the floor, I was thinking of using blue Platon mat with an inexpensive click floor on top. Any thoughts on this? Which is easier to start with, the floor or the walls?
Tips on how to make the wall look nice around the basement windows and relocating the radiators are welcome.
