There is a request to fix the entrance with a new staircase with granite plan steps and a metal stringer.
I can't find any inspiration pictures of an open staircase in granite; are there any reasons for this that aren't obvious?

Today there is a staircase like the following:
A concrete staircase with granite steps and metal railings leading to the entrance of a brick house.

Stone has good resistance to compression but less to tension/bending, so if you place a granite slab between two supports and step in the middle, there is a high risk it will crack.
You will probably need to build stringers in steel and then some form of steel between these that the granite rests on.
These probably don't need to be built so high that the staircase looks enclosed, but there might be building regulations stating it cannot be an open staircase due to the risk of a child getting stuck between the treads and seriously injuring themselves.
These regulations apply to indoor staircases, and the gap between steps must not exceed 100 mm.

Yes, exactly.

What type of craftsman builds this, blacksmith?

If you can't find it as a standard product from a company that makes fences and stairs, it might be a smithy that can make it if you have a drawing.
It could be that stone companies have contacts with someone who can do the ironwork.

I have done it like this:
Outdoor wooden steps with steel rails, attached to a building. Steps lead to an upper level, surrounded by a paver patio and glass greenhouse.
The treads are mounted on steel frames that are bolted to the stringers. The treads are made of wood, but the same principle works for granite.
I designed it myself and a local metal company built it.

Where can you buy one like that?

Hello,

I also have a similar need as my old prefab stairs are worn out and will likely break during the upcoming drainage work. I am also considering an open metal staircase with steps in granite (or wood).
@Christoffer L did you find a good solution?

Any other inspirations?

We didn't find any craftsmen interested in our area, so we had to settle for concrete. Work will start when the weather permits. Photos will come in the spring :-)

Hi, would you be willing to share the design? Super nice and exactly how we want to do it.
