Has anyone opened the intermediate floor in a Smålandsvilla? We would like to open the floor in the entrance to make it completely open between the ground floor and upper floor.
This is not something Smålandsvillan can offer, so we would have to hire our own craftsmen once the house is completed. I just wanted to check if anyone has done this and if it’s possible without too much effort?
Unfortunately, we haven't had time to proceed with this yet. We will probably have to hire someone ourselves to produce construction drawings, and a building permit may also be required for this change.
I will get back to you as soon as we have any updated info.
I have now received a verbal response from Smålandsvillan that this does not affect the construction and is therefore okay to proceed. This is provided that the opening is within the walls on the ground floor. However, I have not yet received written confirmation.
There will, however, be a need to update the building permit for the change. So we will gather a few minor adjustments we want to make (relocating a window, adding a new window, relocating the carport, and then the opening of the floor structure) and submit them for the building permit.
