Hello
We are renovating our summer cottage, and I wonder how to do it...
We are considering installing renovation plasterboard on the wall, but we wonder if we should remove the old board which is about 1 cm thick and resembles gullfiber boards with a paper surface. Under this board, there are horizontal planks; I assume the house is insulated with sawdust between the outer and inner panels.
You can't paint or wallpaper the existing one, and it doesn't feel 100% fresh either.
Anyone know? Remove the board, or leave it???
Thankful for answers
Best regards
Timo

Remove the board and put plaster on the boards. If you put plaster on those kinds of boards, it has happened that after a while, the board moves a little so that the screws in the plaster come out of the paint/wallpaper.
Ok thanks for the answer! Byggahus is awesome!
One last question, should I have wind barrier/plastic or something else between the boards and the gypsum? As it is now, the house isn't heated during wintertime (summer water).
