Hi, I'm planning to build a workbench in the garage. I'm considering using oil-hardened masonite as the working surface. I can only find oil-hardened board, is this the same thing? Also, how thick would you suggest? Byggmax has 3 mm Beijer has 6 mm. Planning to place an angle iron at the front edge.
Will have råspont underneath.

What will you do on the bench? Råspont is a bit weak, it will wobble, use something solid, for example, 28X120 decking with a 16 mm chipboard and then a masonite that you oil yourself or a board sheet. Then you have a stable and durable bench for all kinds of work.templar said:
Yes, various work, work with both car and motorcycle, the bench will be attached to the wall with 45x70 and diagonal braces out from the wall, so it will hang on the wall (concrete).J jonaserik said:
So the raw paneling will be free about 70x100 cm surface between the beams, do you really think it will sway?
Yes, maybe it will, have to reconsider
Was thinking of laying 20x95 tongue.
No, of course it has to be stable, I'm going to mount the vise somewhere along the edge, and there I have the 45x70 support which strengthens it, but I should probably do as you suggest, add a board as well, seems better plus the hardboard will have something smooth to rest against.J jonaserik said:
