Hello, has anyone had experience with Nyans Cover wallpaper (purchased at Bauhaus)? I had old textured wallpaper that I tore off as much as I could, including the old wallpaper. However, it often layers, leaving a thin paper layer. If you put water on this, it wrinkles. I asked the store, mentioned above, if you should paint a thin layer before or maybe go over with diluted glue so it absorbs properly, but they said it's not needed with these (miracle?) wallpapers. I'm a bit doubtful. How would you do it the simplest way? Go over with white wall paint first so it binds? If so, can it be water-based (Beckers, have a large can left)?

Grateful for answers!

No one awake?

Installed Nyans cover in a room this week. Works very well. Much easier to work with than the "easy cover" original, and much cheaper. Go for it!

Hepp! Have now wallpapered one room (of two). Turned out pretty well. However, a bit difficult to work with in corners due to the stiffness of the wallpaper, especially in outer corners. But it resulted in smooth and nice surfaces overall. The wallpaper quickly absorbs the paste, so you shouldn't skimp on it. It adheres very well, and no bubbles have appeared (yet, day 3).

I have no experience with easy cover, but I agree that it was a good price on these Nyans cover, 149 SEK per roll. One room left today, then painting it!

Awesome!
The original is even stiffer, so it's harder to get good, and it’s also more difficult to handle since it's 1 meter wide, and nyans cover just 60 cm...

It's like with Easy Cover, you shouldn't go around any corners, cut and soft seal inner corners, and put corner strips on outer corners.

I have applied easy cover past both outer and inner corners without any problems. The corner looks just as nice now as it did 4 years ago when I did it. Could also be because I'm sloppy at reading instructions :)

Why shouldn't you go past the corners?

Damn, I missed that too... installed both in inner corners and outer corners. But what's done is done, only painting left. Are there any known types or brands one should NOT use? I've counted on two coats, preferably not more.

As for paint, my advice is not to skimp on cheap paints. Go for Beckers or Alcro or similar. Cheap paints are harder to paint with, require more coats, and rarely turn out well; it's like painting with semi-skimmed milk.

K-rauta currently has an offer on Beckers 10 liters, I think it's tinted paint.

Bought Jotum's paint at Bauhaus. It actually turned out really well, thick and good. Not like when using Jula's in the garage and it took at least 4 coats for it to look like anything.

For God's sake, don't buy Byggmax shitty paint that has the consistency of skim milk and requires 7-8 coats to cover!
