Newly built house - studs or OSB?
Why do you call it "kortling"? The function is not at all the same as kortlingar.
Read my first post 12. I wrote that there is more work if you install OSB behind the gypsum, that's why I suggested installing it between the studs. Why should one use metal?H hul said:
aha okay, must have missed that.R RoBo said:
we usually install OSB between the studs with metal straps, it's cheap and very easy. how do you do it?

Aren't regular Molly bolt expanders really easy to remove?L Liteavvarje said:
You just break off the flanges with side cutters and push the bolt expander into the wall.
But why hang a big TV on the wall in the first place?
Place it on a low TV/radio stand instead.
One day/year it will be replaced with a bigger/nicer/sharper one anyway!
The definition of a nogging that I have is as it is presented on Wikipedia.H hul said:
"Nogging is a shorter stud placed perpendicular to and between the main studs, the purpose of which is to stabilize longer parallel studs in wooden buildings. It can also be used to stiffen a construction like a floor."
You place short studs between long studs in, for example, joists to prevent them from twisting. You don't get that function at all with an OSB.
What do you mean by nogging?
One also installs noggings in lightweight walls to have material to attach heavy objects like kitchens. These can be replaced with plywood pieces, metal strips, etc., which are also called noggings even if they may not meet Wikipedia's definition.
A kortling is a reinforcement in the wall that can be done in several ways, with beams, obs, plyfa, etc.D Daniel 109 said:The definition of a "kortling" that I have is as it is presented in Wikipedia.

An OSB in the wall is also called kortling.
So, kortling has completely changed its meaning in the construction industry. That was good to know.
haha no, go to any construction site in Sweden and say that you want a plyfa kortling for kitchen installation and I promise you will get the same everywhere and everyone knows what it isD Daniel 109 said:
