New plaster on chimney in 1930s condition? Tips for heavily pregnant :-D
Chimney from the 1930s, built of lightweight concrete blocks (aerated concrete, with a new flue). Need to apply new plaster on the upper floor.
Heard about C-plaster or alternatively hydraulic lime plaster (preceded by hydraulic lime base and welded mesh).
- What should I choose?
- How much of the old material must I remove? Everything that comes off easily or EVERYTHING?
- Does the existing plaster matter for the choice of new material?
Preferably reply in the next few days!

You should choose lime plaster, a chimney is soft and therefore the plaster must be flexible. All the old plaster must be removed, it cannot be "spliced" together with old plaster. Lime mortar adheres to everything. Lecamuraren
