As you may have read in the previous thread, when I move, I will set up new walls on the upstairs, which is unfinished.
I have some thoughts on how to do this but would like to hear your opinions.
What I was thinking is to use a layer of chipboard and a layer of plaster on each side of the wall. This is to make it easier to attach things to the wall. Advantages/disadvantages of chipboard and plaster, instead of two layers of plaster?
Then I thought of using wooden studs, instead of metal studs. Cheaper and easier to cut, I thought. What are your opinions on wooden studs instead of metal?

Having a board under the plasterboard is nice; double plasterboard probably dampens sound best but is hardly the best from a fixation point of view.

If one is to be a bit rational and economical...
How often do you hang such heavy items on bedroom walls that a drywall isn't enough?
How soundproof does a single-family home need to be? Typically, you have interior doors that barely dampen sound, and ventilation gaps as well.
Having double drywall, or OSB/particleboard/plywood + drywall might be a bit overkill at home.
Then there are the simple door frames at 95 mm.
It fits perfectly with a 70 mm stud + 2x13 mm drywall = 96 mm.
No need for extensions and complexities.
This will be cheap and effective.
If you don't require hotel standards.

You can go with either. I think wood is a bit more fun to work with and a bit more "forgiving" (you can hammer and carve a bit if it's not perfect). Then metal is probably a bit faster once you get the hang of it and if the length of the studs matches the ceiling height. Metal is lighter, so less carrying, but the feel of wood is much nicerAnna1984 said:
