Need to replace floor joists in the attic to level the floor. Installing new rafters on top of the old ones, so which is "best" to secure them with.
The rafter will be 45x170
Nails or screws.
If any of the above, what size
I'm not experienced with nails

Take a screw, easier to screw in one end, attach a level and tighten. If it becomes crooked, just loosen and tighten again. A 6x80/90mm screw will be just right.

I aligned and secured the floor with screws. Then I took nails and firmly fastened everything.
Screws are usually more expensive than nails.
