Need some help regarding Construction and Design.
We are going to build a granite staircase with three steps and a landing.
We will most likely use Leca blocks for the construction so they rest on them, and then plaster everything to match the house facade.
We are thinking we need to make a cast footing for the stair that bears all the weight so there is no chance of settling, but is this necessary?
Or can we place Leca blocks directly on the ground?
The previous staircase, a pebble stone stair, has been there since the 1950s and has settled about 1 cm.

Leca directly on the ground is probably not the best. You should cast if you want it to last over time.B bergquist said:Need some help regarding Construction techniques.

The previous staircase, a cobblestone staircase, has been there since the 1950s and settled about 1 cm.
100mm with, for example, 10-12mm rebar centered in the middle of the slab will hold more than well.B bergquist said:
Try to maintain the cover layer at 50mm against the ground so that the rebar doesn't rust in the future.
