Hi,
I am moving my ceiling lamp. I've drilled the new hole but there is no clearance for my new screw hook and plug. By no clearance, I mean the space between the gypsum ceiling and the ceiling behind my gypsum. I would appreciate if it's a 28mm batten in between. Then I don't know if it's board sheathing or masonite sitting back there. I shone a flashlight into the hole and it looks like some wood-like material anyway.
The house was built in 1976.

I was thinking of replacing the screw hook with a toggle anchor but they also need clearance to unfold once inserted into the hole.

Or can I drill straight through the board sheathing/masonite too?

Tips...

Spontaneously, you should be able to set screw hooks in the sparse panel? If it's not something massive you're going to hang?

The ceiling lamp's position will be wrong if I put the hook on the wooden paneling.

What is it that you need help with? Why isn't the hook sufficient? If the hook is screwed into the sparse paneling, it can hold up to 20-100kg, depending on the hook's size.

What do you mean? Then the ceiling lamp's position will be completely wrong. I have to find the rule that might not correspond with my desired position.
