I've bought myself a stack of Tak-Ess, which is now lying on the living room floor. But the boards need to go up on the ceiling, how should I do it? Last time I used short chipboard screws, but I'm wondering if it would work with my little nail gun; one of those little silly things with T-nail heads in the two-millimeter class. Do you think it will work or is it taking a chance?
It ended up being a nail gun.
The manufacturer recommends brads 1.7X35 150mm apart. Mine are 1.25X30 and I placed them 50-100 mm apart in 22 mm tongue-and-groove wood. We used about 2500 nails which would average about 90 grams per nail. At first, I was a bit doubtful about whether it would hold or not. But when I tried to remove a mounted panel, which I managed to damage, I realized this is going to hold great.
Can we lock the thread now? Not the right place for a lot of responses saying it's totally unacceptable with small brads and that the ceiling will fall down in a year
