Have heard from carpenters that the minimum size for nail battens is 10x45
I think it sounds very flimsy, I have used 15x50 as nail battens on my horizontal 50x50 beams, what do you think about that?

I also think it sounds thin. used cleaved 22X95 i.e. about 22X45

I will drive with 28x70...

Exactly the same here...

I know for certain that 2 professional carpenters I have spoken with said it should be at least 10x45, could this have to do with pushing the economy, keeping production costs down???

They can't have meant battens that lie on the joists, i.e., in the same direction instead of 90 degrees to the joists?
That the battens are then only intended to create an air gap.

Even then, 10 mm is very thin. Definitely too thin if you have a wind barrier underneath.

My garage wall consists from the inside of 125x50 horizontal 50x50 wind barrier and thus horizontal nailing strip at 15x50 or windchamber slat, as it can be called, since the nails will mostly be driven into the horizontal 50x50 frame.

Jo Mikael this pertains to boards resting on joists!
