Must the subfloor be completely tight?
Hello everyone!
I'm extending the house and there will be a crawl space under the extension.
I went and bought subfloor boards 55x120 cm. But now I've discovered that the construction company has built so that the compartments aren't exactly 120 cm long but about 125.
Is it okay to leave a gap? Or do I need to bite the bullet and spend the weekend cutting 60 strips to cover everything completely?
Above the board, there will be 10 cm of foam, and above that 12 cm of fiberglass wool.
I understand the issues with moisture reaching the floor joist, but I'm hoping the foam will handle that.
What do you say?

Do you mean that I should add extra studs where the gap is? Hmm, yes, maybe that.
But if the gap is more than 45 mm, there will still be a small air gap, how do you handle that? Is it allowed?
And I've learned that crawl spaces are by definition a no-no, always moisture problems...

They probably mean that you can place the 45s on the grid, so you get even thicker support and thus no gap.Sir Duke said:

But, oh well. How critical is it with an air gap (so that the cellular plastic is visible)? Important to cover it, or is it okay? If the subfloor boards are only meant to support the insulation, then it works. But if it needs to be completely covered, then I'm not there...

But but. How critical is it to have an air gap (so that the foam is visible)? Important to cover or does it manage? If the subfloor boards are just meant to hold up the insulation, then it works. But if it needs to be completely covered, then I'm not doing it right...
