Hello!

I just created a question about wardrobes, but now I realize the question is more about a load-bearing wall.

The red circle has no studs, as far as I can see. At the blue cross, there's a standing stud (70mm deep). I want to move it 20 cm to the right, towards the outer wall. Could this be a problem? Do I need to contact a structural engineer?

Below is the basement, above is a finished attic.

Floor plan showing living room, bedrooms, and kitchen. Red circle and blue cross mark locations related to a remodeling query about moving a wall support.

  • A photo of a partial wall corner showing an exposed wooden stud with staples, adjacent to a smooth painted surface, related to a construction question.
  • Close-up of a corner where wooden ceiling panels meet a wall with exposed studs and fiberboard. Construction detail discussed for moving a stud 20 cm.

There is only a floor plan to go by. But the main wall, which is likely the only load-bearing wall on this floor, runs through the entire floor from left to right.
