Hello!

We have recently moved into our house and are discovering things gradually!

We tried to drill to mount our TV in the basement and noticed that the concrete feels very porous, so we assume it's lightweight concrete.

How do we mount the TV on it securely?

So grateful for any help!

  • Holes drilled into a textured concrete wall, possibly light concrete, with chipped edges indicating porousness found while attempting to mount a TV.

These lightweight concrete plugs fit well..

  • Lightweight concrete plug ESSVE 10x55mm, single unit shown in a close-up image.
Fill the holes with anchoring compound. Insert cut pieces of threaded rod or similar, and let harden. Then attach the TV mount with nuts.

ah thank you so much for the quick and good responses! I'm thinking we'll go with chemical anchors and threaded rods, it feels safest since the TV weighs quite a lot. And good tip with the wall plugs as well, very useful I think since we're going to put up a small shelf and such :)

Again, thanks!
