Hello!

I am planning to install a coat rack in the hallway where the wall consists of triple drywall. We have a security door where I encountered metal when I drilled holes for the coat rack, the drywall is against the metal so I can't use an expander on that side.

Would it work with 4 Driva drywall plugs in metal?

Thanks in advance

What is it that you have on the wall, it should be a metal stud, in that case you can screw into it.

They might work. Of course, it depends on how thick the part of the hat shelf is where the screw is placed.
Thanks, it reminds me a lot of Driva that I bought home. The screw has about 26-28mm of wood from the hat shelf to go through before it reaches the wall.

That was my first thought, but an acquaintance thought it was part of the security door, however the drill hole is about 15cm from the door frame.

There is Metallexpander for triple gypsum.

You don't need to tear down part of the wall when installing a security door, nor build a new wall, it's a replacement of the frame and lining, so a security door probably doesn't go into the wall some 15 cm.

Sometimes a metal sheet is inserted between the layers of plaster to increase the security rating. But the idea that they would have done that in your residence sounds incredible.

If it's not a water pipe😬, maybe you can drill into the plate to see how thick it is.
If it's a thinner plate, a mounting screw with a self-drilling tip would probably be the simplest.
