I was thinking of mounting my TV on the wall with an extendable wall mount and the wall is made of plaster which doesn't seem like a good idea to attach to. My thought was to put up a type of white-waxed wall panel that I fasten on top of the plaster and screw into the studs, like this https://www.bauhaus.se/panel-parlspont-i-furu-12x95x3900mm#reviews-tab
Would it be enough to use wood screws or maybe a long molly bolt?
An alternative would be to put up an OSB board which I guess could hold?
The weight is around 8kg for the mount and 28kg for the TV.

If you attach the TV mount to a stud, it works. Otherwise, I would put up a board.

I almost suspected that was the answer. When I checked the brackets, it looked like the TV would end up too far to either side. But thanks for the quick reply.
