Hello!
I have purchased a wall mount for my 32-inch TV. The wall mount cannot be angled or moved. The wall I plan to mount the TV on is made of plasterboard, and I haven't managed to figure out where the studs are. The TV weighs 8.5 kg, and the screw holes measure 200mm x 200mm. I have looked around a bit on the internet at different methods, such as putting up a plywood board or similar between the wall and the TV to gain additional stability.
Wondering what is recommended.

Drive with molly
If I recall correctly, an m5 molly should handle a load of 50kg.

If you want to find the studs, you can buy some stronger magnets and move them over the wall, and they will stick to the screws/nails in the drywall.

Directly on the drywall with molly, I would have gone with that. The various mounting brackets Pear4Life links to also work, but Molly gives me a sense of security in such situations. With 4 M5 molly, even medium-sized children can climb on the TV without risk.
Molly should actually be mounted with a Molly pliers (available in various designs and appearances) to ensure it holds up to its full specified load. There are usually affordable assortment boxes with both pliers and various sizes of molly available in many places.
Use the correct length molly plug for your wall, as there are molly plugs for both single and double drywall. And even triple drywall, but those molly plugs are uncommon and a bit harder to find.
