Hi, I've just moved into a rental apartment and want to mount my Samsung 65" TV which weighs about 25kg, but I'm a bit anxious about mounting it to the drywall. As the title suggests, I've drilled a small hole by a stud and encountered metal, and otherwise, the wall is just simple drywall. My instinct is that 6 molly bolts in the drywall should hold that weight? (The TV will be on a "tilt-mount" but not one that extends from the wall). Worth mentioning is that the studs seem to be spaced at 45 cm and I already have M4 molly at home, is it worth getting M5/M6 instead?

Thanks in advance!

It should be fine, it will mostly be vertical load with that suspension. If you're worried, I would rather add a couple of extra m4s at the top than go for thicker ones, as this will distribute the load more.

Thanks for the response, I also think it will mostly be vertical load. Do you mean, for example, to place 4 Molly at the top and 2 at the bottom?

Yes, that's how I would probably distribute them if I only had 6. But maybe I would have put one extra, like 5 at the top and 3 at the bottom :)

Alright, thanks for the tips! :)
