I'm a bit uncertain about the safest way to hang Roman rings from the ceiling. I live in a two-story house and plan to hang the rings in a room on the first floor that has 60 cm drywall. I was thinking of first mounting a 45x145x800 mm wooden board over 3 studs, and then mounting the brackets (x-mounts which are 12 cm in diameter) for the rings on this wooden board so that the weight is distributed. I plan to attach the wooden board with 8x100 mm lag screws (2 screws on each stud), and for the brackets, I plan to use 8x40 mm lag screws. Are these screws too large?

I tried using a stud finder to locate the studs, and it seems there are 30 cm between each stud, but I'm uncertain about this. However, it seems there are two studs right next to each other because when I measure where the stud finder starts beeping from left and right, it's about 10 cm.

I would appreciate any tips on how to proceed.

Hello and welcome to byggahus!

I would try to attach to the intermediate floor joists that are normally spaced with 600 mm center distance. If you find studs at cc 300, it's probably just 28*70 glespanel with the task of supporting the plasterboard.

I would try to fasten into the intermediate floor joists, which are normally set at 600 mm center distance. If you find studs at 300 cc, it's probably just 28*70 sparse paneling that serves to support the gypsum.
What are the usual dimensions of the intermediate floor joists? And can they also be located with a stud finder, as I assume the sparse panels are attached to the intermediate floor joists? Or is there a layer between the sparse panels and the intermediate floor joists as well?

Then I'll try to find the floor joists with the stud finder. How can you be sure that it's the floor joists you've hit and not a lath/something else?

Do you think the type and size of the screws will be good (lag screws, 8 mm) or are they too big?

I also plan to put up a pull-up bar on the wall, but there I thought of mounting it directly on the studs instead of a wooden board. Are 8x40 mm lag screws enough there too? I believe the studs in the wall should be at least 45x95 mm with 60 cm apart?
