Hello

A right-hung exterior door will be replaced with a left-hung one. The house is over 100 years old, and the frame will not be replaced. Consequently, recesses for hinges need to be made in the left frame.

The first thought is a router, the second is a chisel.

A router doesn't really work on an existing frame, does it?

Is there an easier method than a chisel?

Tips?
