Hi,
Started tearing up plastic flooring and linoleum tiles in the basement. The walls were also covered with some kind of jute fabric that has been removed. The house is from the 30s, and it is unknown if any drainage has been done at all. The humidity in the summer rises to 60-70 while it is lower in the winter, of course. I've noticed that the plaster is peeling on the exterior walls. But now I also saw that it is starting to peel on the interior walls now that I tore down the fabric. Should we be concerned when even the interior walls seem to have become damp?

Would drainage hypothetically help prevent the slab from absorbing moisture? Or how is it with such an old house?
