Hello, I wonder if anyone has experience with how tar paper with cork pieces underneath works as a moisture barrier on a concrete slab. The concrete slab is uninsulated, meaning it lies directly against the ground. On top of the tar paper lies a laminated oak floor. I believe Icopal has/had such a system?! Is there anyone who has used this, positive or negative experiences?!?!

Best regards, Pirren in a tropical Sweden for a change

Hello!

Now, I don't know how dry and nice your slab is, but my experience from a basement wasn't much to cheer about; there are probably better options!

Best regards, Andreas

Yes, if you have cork and the moisture becomes too much, you get a definitely floating floor........ :D

Anyway, I think it's Icopal that has a system with a "nubby" plastic mat that ventilates out towards and through the baseboards.
