I plan to fill a hole about 1.6 cubic meters in our concrete slab. I was thinking of filling it with Leca balls and then pouring a concrete mix on top.
I have searched but not found a good description of how the concrete should be mixed. It should be mixed fairly thin, but how thin?
How should I calculate the amount of concrete needed? Is it better to use a slightly smaller size of Leca balls (8-14mm)? That should result in less air between each ball that needs to be filled with concrete.
What type of concrete should be used? (The nearest hardware store carries Maxit, would Maxit ABS318 that dries quickly work?)
Thanks

Mix casting gravel, standard cement, and water in the proportions 3:1 (parts gravel to one part standard cement) and add enough water to make a thick slurry. Pour the slurry onto the leca (loosely stored) to seal the surface. You will not get the mixture all the way to the bottom. At most a couple of centimeters. Dry Leca quickly absorbs the slurry. But it is strong enough to walk on to reinforce the slab and then cast it. You can use Leca granules in a gradation of 8-12 mm.

Thank you for the answer Builder
If you use standard cement, how long do you need to wait before you can start with the next layer of the floor?
The plan is that when the pit (or if you should call it the shaft) is filled in, cellular plastic will be laid, and on top of that a slab will be cast (with underfloor heating)
To clarify what it looks like now, I've included a picture.
The pit is quite large, about 50cm deep, 100cm wide, and 3 meters long.
Best regards,
Erik

Hello Mr_XXX "Why Leca?"
If you have carried in or out 1.6 cubic meters of macadam in a basement or bathroom, you probably understand why Leca is preferable.
I have personally carried out 15-16 cubic meters of stone/gravel from a basement, it was considerably more pleasant when it was replaced with Leca and cellular plastic.
