I'm trying to figure out how to make it look nice at the corner of the stairs where we just put up wainscoting. The molding needs to be mitered in some way and in my naivety, I thought it would work with 45 degrees in one direction and the staircase angle in the other. It can be assembled this way, but there is a very noticeable difference in level furthest out from the wall.

How have you others done it?

One idea has been to cut two small filler pieces to create the 90-degree corner, but it's also hard to get right unfortunately.

Tips are gratefully received!

An image would have helped.

Hope this works...

It is a ninety-degree corner without a straight section, which might be more common in stairs.
