Hello!

Looking at a house but I'm a bit concerned about the inspection. According to the inspection report, there is microbial odor and moisture levels above the threshold in the basement. The basement is paneled/raised with wood against the concrete.

According to the realtor: "This is something that can be most easily removed by taking away the existing construction and replacing it with steel studs or plastered walls. Since the house has undergone drainage, the external moisture protection is good, but this type of construction is usually avoided today."

Does anyone know if this is a big project or not? I don't know anything about construction myself and need someone to do it. Is it a large cost, approximately?

In our house, we had someone revive the existing floor in the entire basement, except for the bathroom and laundry room, as it was framed with wood beams. In some sections, some concrete had to be chipped away to ensure it was even. It cost a little over 100' including the installation of new parquet. The area was maybe 60-70 sqm?

If it’s the same against the walls, I don't know. Presumably, it should be cheaper since you're not buying parquet for X00/square meter.
