Hello
I have just started renovating an old cottage in the forest. We are starting by replacing the kitchen. When we demolish the ceiling towards the loft above, we see lots of traces (mouse droppings, etc.) of mouse activity. I know it's almost impossible to get rid of mice from an old house in the countryside, but what would you do in the ceiling?
We were thinking of installing Moelven ceiling panels.
Regards
Thomas

  • Torn plastic ceiling with visible mouse droppings, showing signs of rodent activity in a renovated cottage's attic space.
  • Plastic-covered interior with exposed ceiling insulation in a torn rural cottage, during kitchen renovation to address rodent issues. Two windows view green foliage.
Tear down. Clean up (sweep away and vacuum, replace materials with urine damage if they smell. Use a filter mask) Rebuild.

Then mousetraps or a cat are the best ways to prevent new damage.

There is only one way to stop rodents. With massive materials and without a single crack. Completely sealed in all directions. Building with modern house construction methods and mtrl is doomed to fail.

A cat is nowhere near enough. About a dozen are needed, and preferably 1-2 females with kittens. Then you avoid problems with rodents, but instead, you have problems with cats...
