I'm renovating the laundry room and considering what to have for walls. They are currently plastered, and one idea is to install white beadboard paneling made of MDF. Is this a good idea in a laundry room or is it classified as a wet area??

I think it sounds like an excellent idea to have a nice laundry room.
And as Fremax writes, the MDF can be painted with waterproof paint.
(Which paint doesn't withstand water, by the way?)
From what I understand, a laundry room with a floor drain should have a sealed mat on the floor with a 10 cm upturn
(or equivalent ceramic), and then it's up to you what kind of walls you want.
It's not exactly a place where you stand and splash around like in a shower.
The laundry is practically dry when you take it out of the washing machine/spinner.
