Mdf and osb

Hello! I have tried googling a bit but can't really figure it out.

Does an MDF board hold up as well for screwing things into as a chipboard?

OSB or chipboard? It depends on where the board will be placed, OSB and chipboard are harder and more durable

I'm planning to build a tool cabinet and possibly use MDF for the back panel and cabinet doors. So the question is really whether it works to hang tools on an MDF board? I'm thinking of painting the cabinet, and MDF feels nicer than OSB in that case.

I think it will be fine, it's not like it's 50 kg or so that's going to be hung up?

No, that's what's in the tool case today so it's not a huge weight. I was thinking of buying some of those hooks and holders for the pegboard and screwing them up.
