Hi, I'm going to set up an open chimney-free fireplace "gelebrasa" on a wallpapered lightweight concrete wall.

It is recommended to have a fireproof board if you mount the stove on combustible wall materials. Such as masterboard or minerit.

Is there anyone in the Stockholm area who sells CUT minerit boards to measure?

The ones I've asked say they can't cut minerit because it ruins the blade.

Those I have asked say they cannot cut fiber cement board because it destroys the blade.

Nonsense! It completely depends on what type of blade you use. There are blades for wood (not suitable), particleboard (not suitable), iron (not suitable), stainless steel (not suitable), metals (not suitable), stone (perfectly suitable), ceramic materials (perfectly suitable).

Fiber cement board is a cement-bonded chipboard, and there is a greater risk that the dust will damage the electrical parts of the saw rather than the right blade being destroyed. But with the right blade, you can use a regular electrical hand circular saw to cut fiber cement board.

Then one would assume that said construction store isn't keen on changing blades.

I scored and snapped my Masterboard 10mm and it went well! See page 10 [link]
Can it be scored with a utility knife?

Can the edges be finished to look a bit nicer afterwards? Or do they look cracked?

The reason I want a pre-cut board is because I'm poorly equipped with tools and space to cut it myself.

It works well to carve with a utility knife, I used a morakniv... creates very nice edges MUCH better than plaster...

I don't understand why you need a mineritskiva, isn't lightweight concrete a non-combustible wall material?

It's wallpapered. Paper is combustible.

A gypsum board is paper-covered but is not considered a combustible wall. Are you sure that a wallpapered lättbtgvägg is considered combustible?

A drywall is not considered non-combustible either (it's not even considered fireproof). It only provides fire resistance for about 15 minutes for 12 mm thickness.

Of course, the paper on the drywall chars just as well as the wallpaper on the wall, which in turn can lead to a full-scale fire. Lightweight concrete has slightly better properties than drywall. So, I understand the OP's concern if the stove is too close and the wallpaper gets too warm. Therefore, a Minerit board, etc., is a better protection.

But I would rather put a stainless steel sheet on the wall with something non-combustible in between. Previously, Internit or asbestos was used for that, but now both Internit and asbestos are impossible to obtain.

A glass panel could possibly serve the same purpose if it is made for it. Then without anything behind against the wallpaper. You would then need to mount it on spacers against the wall.

Exactly! A glass panel might look really nice. The glass guys can always cut to size.
