Hello!

I’m working on repointing the chimney, but with two kids under 2, it took about a month longer than expected. And now it's starting to get cold!

Almost all mortar says not to build when it's colder than +5°C, but does that apply throughout the mortar's curing time? Doing the actual masonry work today at 20°C but with a lowest daily temperature of 7-8°C doesn't seem like a problem :)

I'm also using lime mortar, which cures a bit slower than regular concrete :)

What happens when it gets colder than +5°C? Is it okay to continue as long as most of the day is above +5°C?

Yes, I think it still feels reasonable - if the kiln stops burning for a little while and rests while it's below 5 degrees, it doesn't really matter as long as you're done before it's constantly below 5+.
