Mask for Asbestos Removal
Going to demolish a bathroom next week. Not sure, but there might be asbestos in the grout and adhesive since the bathroom is from the 60s.
If doing such a one-time job, is a disposable P3 mask sufficient for this type

Bought those a month ago but I'm starting to feel uncertain if they provide enough protection. Since I'm only doing this once, I don't want to spend money unnecessarily but at the same time not have poor protection.
Should I instead get a half-mask with replaceable filters like Advantage 200 L

Does such a mask provide better protection?

I use the Advantage mask with P3 filter myself, and I think it's a good mask that's well worth the money. Take the opportunity to buy good disposable coveralls (3M) as well, it helps, especially if you suspect asbestos.
But regardless of whether there is asbestos or not, stone dust is not a miracle cure for the lungs, so proper protection is a good investment anyway.
Finally, I want to recommend submitting samples of the tiles with grout and fixative for analysis, it doesn't cost much (~one carpenter's hour) and gives immediate results, at least where I submit my samples, you get the answer within hours.

Anders, thanks for the great response. Do you have tips on where to send for analysis? Should one send in a whole plate with grout and adhesive or should one send just the grout and just the adhesive separately?
Where can you buy disposable coveralls?

I don't know where you live, but in Linköping where I live, you can submit samples to, for example, Previa, which has a "work environment lab." I suspect similar labs exist in all major cities. And if you can't submit the sample yourself, you can send it in a ziploc bag.
I myself submitted a broken tile complete with some grout and adhesive and received a response via phone 2 hours later, and a written certificate by mail the next day (along with an invoice). The guy at the lab said it was better if you could get everything to stick together, so if you can get a piece of a tile with both grout and adhesive, that would be best.
The interesting part was that I got the tip to submit directly to Previa from a cleaning company that usually acts as an intermediary for analyses. Without this tip, I would never have found the actual lab.
Regarding coveralls, I bought mine at Jula. I've tested both their cheap and slightly more expensive ones, and there has been a clear difference in favor of the more expensive coveralls. The ones I bought that were good cost ~99kr and were marked with "3M" but now I can't find such ones on Jula's website. The ones for ~30kr have been pure trash and broke as soon as you touched the wall or bent down.
Hope that helps!

I don't like "engångstuttarna". Buy a Sundström half-mask or similar with a P3 filter, feels like they seal better.

When I worked in sanitation, the engpng masks were referred to as brick filters. That's about what they block. They never get completely tight either. Invest in a good half mask and a good disposable coverall.
Driving past Jula and buying an advantage 200 including P3 filter this afternoon.
Called Previa in Skövde but they didn't accept it and would instead send it to Linköping or Kistad. Decided to skip analysis, even if it is asbestos I will demolish it myself and regardless, I will handle it with the caution as if it were asbestos.

Previously, I've used cheaper half masks and they just become irritating due to fit and chafing. I'm very happy with the Sundström mask, and you can wear it for a long time without it being uncomfortable (or more uncomfortable than working in a mask usually is, as it is quite taxing even with a good mask).
Bought an advantage at Jula yesterday. I think it fit quite well. I've also called Ramirent and rented an air purifier. Regarding disposable coveralls, I was planning to wear clothes like jeans + t-shirt which I will then burn, and I'll take a shower in the garden (stepping out from the bathroom into the garden so I don't go through the house). Shouldn't that work just as well?
Burning is not necessary. It's not a virus or anything like that in question. Put it in a plastic bag and throw it away. There's no reason to get worked up over a one-time incident. -Don't panic! A towel is always good to have on hand.
Yes, indeed. We agreed that after completing the work, I would take it to Skaraborgs städ, which will dispose of the filters and perform asbestos remediation on it, and then return it to Ramirent. So sure, there will be an additional cost for remediation and so on, but it's better than risking getting sick.
