Hi, there are sheet metal screws with rubber sealing washers. I wonder if there is a corresponding seal for machine-threaded screws?
I plan to screw a metal hood (cold-rolled steel sheet) onto a steel frame as a grill chimney. The hood is painted on the outside, but not on the inside (in grills, it seems that's how it's done unless enameled).
I plan to drill holes through the sheet and steel frame and use M-screws with a domed head and a nut on the backside.
Ideally, I want to prevent rainwater from seeping through the screw holes to the backside of the sheet metal, which is unpainted.

How hot will it get there? If not significantly hot, it should be possible to borrow such a washer with a rubber seal from a screw for a metal roof. If it will be hot, perhaps a suitable copper washer for an oil plug or similar can do the job.
Ok, it's not likely to get particularly hot there, could work to just take from sheet metal screws. Copper, does it work with steel sheet and RF?A Anderscurl said:
Then I would have borrowed such a washer from a sheet metal screw. Copper along with steel shouldn't be a problem. But if it could cause any issues with a stainless steel screw, I have no idea. It works on oil pans for cars.
