Lumber from the lumberyard directly to the interior wall?

I bought 70x45 studs to put up an interior wall. I placed them in a semi-neat pile in the carport/cold garage (completely sheltered from rain). When I later went to use them, every single stud could have been used to make propellers or runners for a rocking horse

What did I do wrong? What should I have done instead?

Can you actually use the studs directly from the lumberyard without drying them first?

I buy my studs at Byggmax where they are stored outdoors under a canopy.

I can imagine that the studs were just placed in the pile at the lumber yard..
If the studs are bundled in a package, they usually don't warp.
But as soon as you open the bundle, there's a risk they might twist..

It can often get even worse if you bring the studs into the warmth..

Yes, no problem using them right away.

No risk of them shrinking when they dry after being nailed to the wall if you use them right away? So that the upright rule that was perfectly tensioned suddenly hangs and dangles 3mm too short...

It's not that the timber becomes much shorter when it dries..
We always order timber and bring it in directly and build with it on the job.
