Lubricate casting pipe

I have only managed to get regular cardboard tubes, i.e., not waxed surface.

I am going to cast in the crawl space and want to remove the tubes after casting.

What should I lubricate/treat the inside of the tubes with?

You should use mold release oil, but in its absence, you can use motor oil mixed with diesel to lubricate your pipes or any other oil of your choice. It would probably work with rapeseed oil as well.

50/50 diesel engine oil?

The exact amount is lagom, it should be thin but not too thin. You'll have to test it out, but I would guess that 50-70 oil is lagom. Then just pour it into the tube and spin.
