We are facing a small problem with our ceiling in the bathroom/laundry room and guest room.... the ceiling needs to be lowered to a height of 2.60 because it currently varies between 2.65-3.20... so far so good, but now I wonder how on earth I should put up the new ceiling, what should it be attached to? It is currently framed level around the walls... so it would need something to attach to in the middle as well... attaching beams only at wall level, which is only fastened on the outer edges, will it be stable enough to support each other plus the new inner ceiling? What dimension is required for it to be as self-supporting as possible, or does it even need to be... the span is 3.60 in one direction, which is the width of all the rooms, in the other direction it's 2.60 in the guest room, 2.50 in the bathroom, and 2.20 in the laundry room.
Can someone solve my meltdown...? :-/
Thanks in advance...
