Lower ceiling

Planning to lower a ceiling by about 50 cm, which is actually better, wood studs or metal studs?
The room isn't very large, about 1.80 * 1.80, the idea is to install some spotlights and other stuff, it's going to become a bathroom eventually.

do you have incredibly high ceilings when you're lowering the ceiling by half a meter??..I've used wooden studs but it's probably six of one, half a dozen of the other.

have about 3 meters in ceiling height now so it feels like I have a bit to spare
but if you use wooden studs is 45*70 enough or should you use 45*90 it's not a significantly larger span and I doubt I'll be crawling around or storing anything in that space.
was thinking to set the studs at cc45 or something

are you going to install ventilation or what's the reason for lowering so much? personally, I find high ceilings charming, but it's also practical to lower them so you can run electricity and ventilation inside and avoid visible installations

If it isn't larger, one rule on each opposite wall is sufficient. Then a 45x70 in the middle and possibly a nail plate in the middle of it up to the old ceiling. Then batten with 22x70 or 28x70 cc 600 or 300? depending on what type of boards you are going to install.

Master, it was a brilliant suggestion, thank you, I will do so.

The reason for the ceiling reduction is that it saves a few kronor on waterproofing, etc., plus you don't have to worry as much when installing recessed lights.
