I'm considering lowering the ceiling by 200mm to install new electrical and add extra insulation.
Would it work????
45x45 frame around the walls. 45x70 as joists that I notch to align with 45x45. In the ceiling, I plan to put up 45x45, which I then attach either perforated strips or 21x70 and level down to the joists. I will space them with 28x70. And some plastic.
For the panel board, can I nail it up directly or do I need something more to support the insulation? I will use a finish nailer.
Or should I just skip lowering the ceiling and blow loose-fill insulation into the attic? The attic would then become unusable.
