Hello, I have a living room that is 5.36m x 3.6m (about 19.3 m2) that I plan to lower slightly.
As the title says, it should be lowered by a maximum of 4.5cm. There are concrete walls and ceiling all around.
The only things that need to go into the suspended ceiling are a few 1w LED lights, speaker cables, and a power supply to the balcony for infrared heating.
So which studs should I use? I'm going for a gypsum ceiling. I assume 30cc spacing for the studs, but I have no idea which ones are best suited for this ceiling.
Grateful for any advice!
Regards,
Engdahl

Use this stålprofil and Norgips Plan gips if you want a smooth ceiling.

28x70 otherwise if you go with wood. This plus drywall gives you 41 mm...
Okay, but I've checked out the steel profiles a bit, they seem good, considering they come in 3.8m lengths and I need 3.6m, so it will probably be quite cost-effective compared to wood as there is always so much waste.
But then to the following question.
Where do you buy them? Bauhaus, Byggmax and the like?
Then I wonder what size screws to use. One on each side per 60cm, is that enough?
Which screws/plugs are best suited for these profiles?

Hat profile is the common name for the steel profile and can be found at places like Bauhaus, and probably at the other building warehouses too, but in Länna, I have bought them myself. If you want to do it by the book, check out, for example, Norgips website and their construction solutions. It also explains the principles of how to attach the profile to the ceiling and recommendations for screws, etc. If you have the luxury of a flat concrete ceiling, it is really quick to install such profiles with a suitable nail gun, even though it costs a bit to rent.

I looked a bit but mostly became puzzled, then I found this old post that clarified everything.. now I know nothing is needed on the long sides, nice!

I lowered about 15 cm with metal studs, and made sure to place the "hat profiles" so all joints landed over one of them, making it stable. I placed them according to the instructions I received so that the short sides are screwed into a hat profile, while the long sides are only screwed about every 30 cm (meaning I had cc30 between the hat profiles). It became stable and well-made, and after 15 months it still looks the same as it did initially...
"
However, I have one question remaining, there was nothing on the website about the type of screw for fastening into concrete that I could find. The studs will be 3600mm long, so I'm not quite sure how best to set them up. Maybe pre-drill all the holes, then attach it at both ends to be able to make markings on the ceiling. Does anyone have any good suggestions?
