Now it's done. The neighbor came over with a Dewalt reciprocating saw and made short work of it... It took maybe ten minutes in total to cut the three bolts that were left. I have to thank everyone for the good advice and my neighbor!
Just one layer of (damp) filler so far, I think the end result will be somewhat better with a couple more layers and some paint đ
