I am on the hunt for the thin wooden sheets that often sit behind wardrobes, e.g. One side is smooth and the other rough. This is easy to bend and would fit perfectly for my purpose. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and where I can get it loose?

Ordinary masonite, I would argue. The nearest hardware store would be the first place to search.

Ok, and you think there is one that thin? Maybe 5mm.

I believe that standard masonite (not oil-hardened) is 3mm, which should be thin enough. I sometimes use 3mm white-painted masonite as backing. It's available at most well-stocked hardware stores.

If you're referring to the appearance of wood, i.e., a wood-like texture, then it's laminate on one side, either in wood or self-adhesive plastic film.

Both 3 and 5 mm masonite are usually available at hardware stores. If flexibility is important, then 3 mm is probably what you should go for, Calle.
