I have extended my pier foundation garage (Älvsbyhus) and joined it to a slab-on-grade. To cover the joint in between, I would need some form of leveling compound that does not become 100% hard but retains some flexibility, as some natural movement likely occurs between the garage sections. Yet, it needs to be hard enough to drive a car over. Something like self-leveling compound or similar, perhaps?

An alternative is a metal plate over it, but I would prefer a less visible joint that doesn't collect dirt.

It concerns an area of 6 x 0.2 meters and about 15mm deep at its deepest point that needs to be covered. It is currently a regular unpainted concrete floor.

Something that might work is what plumbers use to waterproof plumbing installations?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Concrete floor with visible joint and rough surface, possibly where two garage sections meet. Nearby is some construction equipment and a floor drain.
I mean stuff like this

  • Pipes beneath a sink, surrounded by what appears to be a gray, dusty substance, with a visible date marked as 2.1.2007.
