Looking for "durk plate" or "durk grating"
Hello,
looking for what I call "durkplåt" or "durkgaller", I imagine it's what you have as floor grilles on bridges in, for example, large boats' engine rooms. Does anyone know what I mean and where one can get it?
Best regards,
Göran

I've been looking around for tread plate. It's often available at hardware stores and also at Clas Ohlson, but usually only in rather small sizes. I haven't asked for larger pieces.
I personally love tread plate and have tried to incorporate it as a design element in the new house. My boldest idea was to have aluminum tread plate as the ceiling in the kitchen. I think it would have been insanely cool, but my girlfriend says a flat no. I'll have to start with something smaller first so she can see how stylish it is.

Try with an interior smith or sheet metal wholesaler. Very common stock item, but in the ceiling I don't know, maybe if you live in the navy's combat boat 90, otherwise not.
There is star-punched sheet metal with a thickness of about 1-2 mm that is quite nice. It must be painted and it will be outdoors.

Expanded metal they probably are not!
Certainly used, but in a very small extent, like ventilation grilles or filter frames!
No, I would call them regular anti-slip plates in steel or aluminum, painted or plain!
I assume it can be a bit tricky to keep the aluminum clean when it's mounted on the ceiling, scrubbing with piasava, metal-brighter solvent, and good ventilation is probably not popular in the kitchen
Hope you find what you're looking for...
Have a nice weekend!

No not expanded metal! Sträckplåt Used for example as loading ramps on car trailers, floors in construction hoists, bus shelters, etc. As for tread plate in aluminum, there is saltwater-resistant with high corrosion protection for marine use.

Hello!
I don't know where you live, but you can check this page to get an idea of what it costs http://prislistor.tibnor.se/Common/Frameset.aspx?&Profile=Sweden

If you mean like this. http://www.sjmab.se/res/Produktbilder/durkplat.jpg they have quite large pieces at Bauhaus. I think they were 1.5x1.5m or similar, but I have no idea about the price and their prices are not listed on their website.
