I am about to replace a wall on the ground floor of my 1 1/2 story house. Calculating which beam I need is not a problem, but I would like some help with how the construction industry assumes the loads that the beam is subjected to. In my case, the beam will carry both a floor and parts of the load from the roof truss (though this has not been confirmed yet).
Are there any templates that indicate what load to calculate with? For example, a table or the like that shows the contribution of various parameters such as snow load, number of trusses per meter, roof pitch, floor area of the 2nd floor...etc?
