Load-bearing walls on the upper floor
We have an architect friend, maybe they can do that? Or should it be a structural engineer?J justusandersson said:It's a very good construction type, the broken roof, as only the middle part needs to support snow. But snow must be considered from a 50-year perspective. Several of the weaknesses have been added recently. If something happens, it has extensive consequences. I suggest you bring someone competent who can look and assess how urgent it is.

If you have an architect friend, take advantage of her or him!
Yes, you wouldn't happen to be such a person, by the way?J justusandersson said:
I don't know why it has a hipped roof. The owner at that time was a woodworker. Maybe inspired by the Jugend style.Evakarin54 said:

The generation of architects to which I belong received a very comprehensive technical education, almost like that of civil engineers. There are also younger architects who specialize in construction technology. All architects are trained to see the big picture, which can be quite beneficial. There can't be that many houses with just one hipped gable?
No, it is probably quite special.J justusandersson said:The generation of architects to which I belong received a very comprehensive technical education, almost of the civil engineering type.
