Hi, we are renovating our basements.
It will become a laundry room/boiler room but there is a wall between the rooms.
I want to take down the wall, but could it be load-bearing? There is a concrete vault above.

  • Close-up of a wall showing horizontal layers with a measuring tape across, suggesting an inquiry about whether the wall is load-bearing.
  • A brick wall in a basement, part of a renovation project, possibly separating laundry and boiler rooms; consideration of whether it is load-bearing.

In a basement, there are not only load-bearing walls to consider but also stabilizing ones, such as walls that are meant to prevent the exterior walls from being pushed inwards by the soil outside. Therefore, it would be best if you upload a floor plan and mark the wall in question.
