Hello!

I'm considering buying a 1.5-story house with a basement.

According to the image below, the joists should follow the direction of the black arrow, right?

The wall that runs along the red arrow should also be part of the load-bearing structure?

I plan to move the kitchen to the outer wall where the bathroom is, and if the joists run in that direction, it should be relatively easy to move the plumbing there. (3.5m), but I'll address that in a separate thread once I get a response to this :)

Grateful for any answers!

  • Floor plan of a 1.5-story house with a basement, showing living room, kitchen area, bathroom, and garage. Black and red arrows indicate possible structural elements.
Do you have a wall in the basement under the wall at the red arrow and the roof ridge is also going in that direction, then it is so.
